Request For Interest – Brookings Area MAKERSPACE
4 May 2021
Brookings Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) is requesting information from individuals or businesses that would have an interest in taking over the over-site and management of the Brookings Area MAKERSPACE.
The MAKERSPACE was established in February 2016 as a program of BEDC to assist innovators and entrepreneurs in Brookings county to fuel economic growth through new business startups. The equipment was funded via a USDA federal grant and has met all grant obligations for a clean transfer.
The MAKERSPACE consists of the existing tools and equipment; it does not include any land assets or any physical structures. More information about the MAKERSPACE can be found on the website https://brookingsedc.com/makerspace/.
The expectation is the MAKERSPACE would remain in Brookings county and be open to anyone age 18 and older.
If you are interested in taking over the Brookings Area MAKERSPACE or would like more information, please email your name, and contact information to BEDC at BEDC@brookingsedc.com or call 605-697-8103.
The RFI solicitation will close on June 1, 2021. After that date, all individuals that have formally replied to the RFI, will be contacted regarding the next steps in the process.
