Business Retention & Expansion Program

What is Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E)?

The Business Retention & Expansion program within the Brookings Economic Development Corporation aims to promote business success and a healthy business climate in the community and county. Through business visits, engagement in events like roundtables and industry clusters, as well as data collection, BR&E program works with businesses to gather information and trends to help drive business development initiatives, resources, and growth.

How can businesses get involved?

Data Collection is a key point to understanding the business environment. The information and insights gained through the survey will be used to develop initiatives and provide resources that are relevant to industries and business size.

All survey information collected will remain confidential and results shared will be shared in broad manners to maintain anonymity.

The business environment is diverse in the Brookings community. An in-person conversation with key community leaders will allow for the BEDC team to hear concerns specifically of each business. Insight gained from these conversations will be used to develop strategies and share resources specific to the business/industry to determine climate wide trends for larger initiatives and projects.
